Hiring is different for different people and where they are in their building process.

I do have suggestions for several situations:

The ONE PERSON SHOP: If you are by yourself and do very well, you may want to keep it that way because NO ONE will ever do it as good as you. Or atleast in your mind.

If you can get passed the fact NO ONE does it as good as you, and factor that into building your future team then you will be OK.

If you are a one person shop, I would make a case that TODAY is the time for you to hire your first employee. I know it is ODD and I know nothing about you EXCEPT you are on this site for advice, you have taken the time to read this far and if that is the case you want to grow.

You can only do so much, and I bet you are like hundreds of agents i talk to there are things in your day or week you love doing and things that you hat doing. There are things that you must do and things that you have to do...

If you could implement something that cost you a few hundred dollars and free up enough time to DO THE THINGS THAT MAKE YOU MONEY, would you?

I propose that an assistant is the best money you will spend at this point in your career.

Here are a few things I hear and see:

  • You are spending money on marketing, but not making everything out of the leads you have.
  • You are entering data on Saturdays because it is the slow time.
  • You are doing tasks that have to get done to get paid, but that keeping you from doing more of the activity you make the most money on.
  • You are working more hours now than ever?
  • You are not growing because you are burnt out?

These are all reasons why YOU CAN NOT AFFORD one more day with out an assistant !!!

I know it is a cost, so cut your leads back or cut eating out or do what ever it takes to cover the cost until you can realize the reward.

Do the math with me:

If you do 4 more _________________ a month and that will bring you $___________________ a YEAR. (value)

The cost of an assistant where I do business is $_________________ an hour x 30 hours a week =______________(cost)

If I pay _____(cost)_________ and it will bring me _______(value)__________.

If the value is Equal or greater than this cost YOU SHOULD HIRE ONE TODAY!!!!!

Just think of how many hours a week you could free up do do things that are more profitable !!!

You will be surprised, the things you take off your plate with not only free up your time, but will probably be done better because it is there job .

You will also find that you have more energy to focus on building your business which is the best investment you can make.

If you are building the MACHINE and have already started moving that direction and you have 1-5 staff members please make sure you read E-Myth.

I know a ton of very good agents who think they want to build a business because they are the best agent they ever met. And allot of times that is the case!

However being true business or organization owner, of a organization that grows and takes on a life of its on is much different than being a good agent.

The book explains it as being a technician -vs.- business owner.

You may want to just be an agent, you may want to be the OWNER who spend his or her day working ON the business, not in the business.

There are several case studies pointed out in this book, it is a quick read and may change your life. It did mine, and I re - read it every year for fresh insight and find something different every year.

Buy the book, if you are lazy like me get the CD
